Children and Family

God loves kids, FACT! Children are always welcome at our church. We want it to feel like a second home to them and church family to feel like a second family. So we build lots of opportunities for kids to learn about God and begin to develop friendships in church before they can even toddle. We also understand that family life can be challenging at times and we want families to find church to be a safe haven where they will be supported and helped as they journey. We would love to see you and your family along to any of our services or departments. If you have any queries you can email our children’s worker Charlotte at charlotte@portadownelim.com

Youth

Over 2000 years Jesus called a bunch of teenagers, discipled them, and then sent them out to change the world.  We want to be a church that facilitates that today. We believe that Jesus is still calling young people to follow Him, and we want to help with that journey either by introducing them to Jesus, helping them grow as a Christian, or by providing opportunities for them to make a difference. We are passionate about seeing a generation completely sold out for Jesus, making a difference in their town, in their country, and all around the world. If you are a young person, we would LOVE to meet you. If you have any queries you can email our youth worker Darren at darren@portadownelim.com or our youth outreach worker Campbell at campbell@portadownelim.com.

Baptism & Dedications

Baptism

At Portadown Elim we hold regular baptism services where we fully immerse those who have come to faith. The Bible clearly teaches that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. It allows a believer to communicate to the world their decision to follow Jesus. If you are a committed Christian and would like to be baptised please download a form by clicking here, fill it in and submit it and someone will be in touch with you. If you have any other questions you can contact us at office@portadownelim.com

Dedications

We believe every child is a treasure and at Portadown Elim we love to stand with families as they dedicate their little ones back to God. A baby dedication is an opportunity for parents to acknowledge their new child as a gift from God and present him/her before the Lord in the presence of friends, relatives and the wider church family. A baby dedication ceremony does not effect the child’s salvation and is not a declaration of a child’s faith. Rather, child dedication is much more to do with the parents’ commitment to raise their child in a way that will guide him or her into relationship with God. It is about the parents accepting the solemn responsibility to raise their child in the ways of the Lord.

If you would like to have your child dedicated please download a form by clicking here, fill it in and return it to our Church administrator. If you have any other queries you can contact Karen at office@portadownelim.com
