Our Story
For over 100 years, Portadown Elim has been part of the Portadown community.
What began as a small local church has grown into a thriving church family made up of people of all ages and backgrounds. Every week we gather to worship, learn from the Bible and encourage one another, while serving our local community throughout the week.
Although much has changed over the years, our purpose hasn't. We're passionate about helping people know Jesus, grow in their faith and make a difference in the community around them. As we look ahead, we're excited for the next chapter of our story.
Our Next Chapter
For a long time Portadown Elim has been searching for land, a place where we could expand our borders and push forward with the work. That dream became a reality when we signed the deeds to our new land.
The site is 4.3 acres of wasteland right in the middle of the town. For years, the site had remained derelict and associated with antisocial behaviour, vandalism and substance misuse. We believe it can be transformed into a place of hope, community and practical support for Portadown.
So now we have the incredible opportunity to take wasteland associated with vandalism and crime and turn it around to become a centre of light and life in the middle of our community. We are grateful for everything God has done in the past and now we look forward to a new day with fresh challenges and opportunities to serve Him and our town.
