At Portadown Elim, we believe no one should walk through life alone. If you’re facing a challenging season, our Pastoral Care Team is here to support you, pray with you, and guide you to the best next step.
Please contact us with as much detail as possible. Once your request is submitted, our team will review it and follow up upon approval. We’re honoured to walk with you and believe God meets us in every moment, especially the hard ones.
Pastoral Care
CAP
Christians Against Poverty (CAP) is a UK charity that helps people who are struggling with debt and financial pressure. Through free, confidential support and personal guidance, CAP helps individuals and families take practical steps towards becoming debt-free and building a more secure future. We partner with CAP to offer hope, support, and real solutions to those facing financial challenges in our community.
Y-Zone
The Y-Zone was established in April 2000 and is a Youth and Community Outreach department of our church. Our mission is to reach young people in our town who are identified as ‘at risk’ or ‘marginalised.’ We offer support, guidance, hope, and opportunities to help young people make positive life choices.
When young people feel significant, secure, valued, and able to be authentic, they are better equipped mentally and emotionally to build healthy relationships with God and with others.
Helping Hands
Helping Hands Community Outreach Project is a commissioned ministry of Portadown Elim Church, established on Easter Sunday 2009. We are a family support service that works with individuals and families across the Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough who are facing challenges and could benefit from practical support.
Across all areas of our work, there are opportunities for people to serve and volunteer while helping others. This can be especially valuable for those who are currently unable to work, providing a safe and supportive environment where they can discover purpose and direction for their lives. Through building structure, community and friendships, individuals can grow in confidence, improve their employability, and begin to address some of the challenges they are facing.
Safeguarding
Elim is committed to creating healthy churches and safe spaces for all. We recognise the ways in which children and adults can be at risk of harm or abuse, so endeavour to create a culture to minimise opportunities for abuse to occur.
Children rely on adults to keep them safe, therefore all our churches working with children, either directly or indirectly, are committed to safeguarding children in their care.
We seek to do this by providing a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where children can reach their full potential. Similarly, within our churches there are adults in need of protection, care and support due to vulnerability, whether that is a permanent or temporary state. We are aware too that within our churches there are relationships of trust, which flourish best within healthy churches and environments, where there is openness, transparency and accountability.
We firmly believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and all involved in the life of our churches and activities have a role to play in keeping children, young people and adults safe.
If you wish to raise a concern regarding safeguarding within the Elim organisation, the following form can be used to notify the National Safeguarding Coordinator. A copy of the form will also be emailed to the person completing the information.
