WHAT HAPPENS AT CHURCH?
Curious about what church looks like at Portadown Elim?
Our Sunday services are all about celebration, community, and connecting with God. It’s a time to worship together, be encouraged by His word, and experience His presence and power in a real way.
How long is a service?
Our services usually run just over an hour—but most people love to stick around afterward for a chat. We’re passionate about making new people feel at home, and everyone is welcome to come along and check it out.
What does worship look like?
We begin with worship—typically 3 to 4 songs over about 20 minutes. These are often fresh, faith-filled songs written by churches and artists who love Jesus.
Depending on the team that day, our worship might include acoustic guitar, keyboards, synths, bass, and more—similar to any modern live music setting. You'll see people worshipping in ways that feel natural to them: lifting hands, closing eyes, singing freely. If it’s new to you, feel free to simply stand, take it in, and enjoy the moment.
Do you take Communion?
Yes, we regularly share communion as a church family. It’s a moment to remember and honour the sacrifice of Jesus—His body broken and His blood poured out for us. You don’t need to be a member to take part, just someone who is following Jesus. If you’re not sure, you’re welcome to simply observe without any pressure. It’s a sacred and beautiful time of reflection and thanksgiving.
Who can come?
You’re absolutely welcome—whether you’ve been part of church for years, are exploring faith, or just wondering what it’s all about. Come as you are.
What about the message/preach?
We preach the Bible in a way that’s practical, clear, and relevant for everyday life. Our messages usually last about 30 minutes and often form part of a teaching series that helps us grow together as a community over time.
What happens after the talk?
After the message, we’ll take a moment to respond—often with a time of reflection, prayer, and worship. Once the service wraps up, many people stay to connect, catch up, or you can ask some of our team questions.
Come join us one Sunday—we’d love to meet you!
